Disney On Ice!

This weekend was Madelynne's turn for a special outing with Mom! I had heard on the radio that Minnie and Mickey's Magical Journey Disney on Ice Show was going to be in town. So, I talked to a friend of mine who has a little girl Maddie loves to play with and we made it a date!Maddie and Mia were amazed by everything they saw come out! They could not believe how many of the characters they saw. I did start to realize at this show that Maddie being the youngest I didn't realize that she really hasn't experienced the Disney character thing. The one time we did go to Disney with herm she was under a year old and likely slept through the entire event!!!

They were a little frightened by the gigantic alligator that eventually ate Captain Hook and drug him off the ice!

I loved watching how happy the girls were watching the show. It is truly amazing to see the joy and wonder in a child's eyes. It is always nice to have that little reminder to slow down and enjoy these little things. I am glad I had an evening out with Maddie to do something special.

MONSTER JAM

I know it has been a while since I have posted on this blog but, obviously with all that is going on, the blog did not make the priority list. So, I decided to start 2011 with the attitude that I would do things I wouldn't normally do. What better way to kick it off than with a trip to the Monster Jam Truck Rally!! With Greg gone and me being in school full time, finding time to do things with each of the kids that they enjoy and that fits each of them, is a bit difficult. I decided to take the boys to Monster Jam. I can honestly say I never imagined I would ever attend one of these. I didn't tell the boys where we were going. I just told them that we were going on a "boys plus mom" night out. We went out to eat at Red Robin and while we were there I gave the boys the tickets. It took them a minute to figure out what it was I gave them but when they figured it out they were thrilled! (Maybe a little shocked I was the one taking them!)

Christopher wore this Grave Digger hat the entire time. He was so happy to wave his flag every time his favorite trucks (all of them) were racing!!

Zack really liked for me to get the picture of the truck up in the air. This is the truck called El Toro Loco. I liked that it had horns!!

The more they crushed up the cars the happier the kids were! This could explain a few things about their bedroom!

This was the picture of the boys before it even started. They weren't really sure what to think about what was about to happen. They made sure they got their earplugs in waited for the action to start!

We really had a great night! I am so glad I went outside my comfort zone for the boys and had a very memorable night. I am pretty blessed to have such great boys!!
